Come and Worship

We would love to have you be a part of our worshipping community. Come as you are.

Sunday Worship
10:00 am
one service

For the summer we will be having one service each Sunday at 10:00 (except for June 24).

June 24 exception
9:30 am
one service

June 24 we will have a joint worship service here at Christ the Good Shepherd with the saints from Holy Cross at 9:30. We will be having some prayers for our youth and adults who will be heading to Houston for the ELCA Youth Gathering. They will be helping to lead the worship on this morning.

All of our worship services include Holy Communion. All who wish to partake of the body and blood of Jesus are welcome to do so.

Seasonal Emphasis

We are now in the Sundays after Pentecost, aka ordinary time, where we linger in the goodness of God's gift of the Holy Spirit as it does its work in us as followers of Christ.

Annual Meeting on June 3

We had elections filling 3 spots on our Endowment Committee and also our two 2019 Synod Assembly Voting Member positions.

The following motion was discussed and then passed 43-9:

(1) To amend the current rear property sale agreement in order to sell an additional 14,000 square feet (140 feet by 100 feet) of land at the northwest corner of the proposed sale property to accommodate stormwater retention and visitor parking; and (2) to allow access from the sale property to State Street via an easement along the driveway on the west side of the church building.

First Sunday

On the first Sunday of the month we have a potluck and some committee meetings following one joint worship service at 10:00 AM. There is also an ingathering of our "First 5" offering. Everyone one is invited to bring an above-and-beyond offering of 5 somethings to help facilitate the ministry that happens through Christ the Good Shepherd.

Monthly Joint Potluck
July 1

One of the clear messages that came out of our many 1-to-1 conversations with folks is the desire to have some worship services with the entire community. To that end, the church council has decided that the first Sunday of the month will be a joint worship service at 10:00.

In order to have even more time for interaction and community building there will be a potluck following the service. Please plan to stay for a meal after worship. If you forget your dish to pass please come anyway. There is always enough food to go around--remember the loaves and the fishes.
