For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return there until they have watered the earth, making it bring forth and sprout, giving seed to the sower and bread to the eater, so shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and succeed in the thing for which I sent it.

Isaiah 55:10-11 (NRSV)

All scripture is inspired by God and is useful for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, so that everyone who belongs to God may be proficient, equipped for every good work.

2 Timothy 3:16-17 (NRSV)

God's Word is central to our existence as a community of faith. Scripture is part of every worship service. We have regular opportunities for Christian Education and Bible Study. As we draw near to the promises and stories of scripture we are changed. God's purposes are accomplished as God's Word takes hold in our lives.

We follow the Revised Common Lectionary as the source of our readings for our Sunday worship. Pastor Karl wrote a weekly electronic devotional (e-vo) based on the lectionary readings. You can follow the link to access 500 achived devotions.

If you are in need of a Bible for your own personal study please let us know and we would be happy to furnish one for you. We use the New Revised Standard Version (NRSV) in our worship services most often.
