Vicar Sena Norton grew up all around the Pacific Northwest and in Hawaii. As a military brat she learned the power of blooming where you are planted and being in service to others. Prior to answering her call into ministry and attending Luther Seminary she taught middle school for 18 years in both public and private settings. She and her daughter are both excited to join the community of saints at Christ the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church to serve as the pastor-intern for the next year. As a family who was brought together through adoption, Sena deeply believes in the power of love to cross all boundaries. She also values the positive change a dedicated and loving community can bring to all "neighbors in Christ" near and far. She has served in leadership roles at the local, state and national level during her time serving in an education union, has served a term as a Clackamas County Planning Commissioner, was elected as a precinct chairperson and participates in a variety of social justice causes and organizations. In her free time she loves reading, enjoying time with family and friends, taking road or plane trips and is always on the lookout for the best chicken wings in town!
Pastor Sena looks forward to serving, learning, sharing the 'good news' and leaning into God's grace and steadfast love on a daily basis.

"Let love be genuine; hate what is evil, hold fast to what is good; love one another with mutual affection; outdo one another in showing honor. Do not lag in zeal, be ardent in spirit, serve the Lord. Rejoice in hope, be patient in suffering, persevere in prayer. Contribute to the needs of the saints; extend hospitality to strangers."
